The ultra-deluxe 180 gram TRIPLE vinyl with Tri-Fold (3 pocket gatefold) DIE-CUT sleeve of the "Rock Dream" collaboration album from Boris and Merzbow! A live, psychedelic, mind expanding collaboration between Boris and the legendary Japanese master of abrasion: MERZBOW!

The two entities are no stranger to collaborative releases and their symmetrical chemistry burns a brightly shining path on this special release. What makes the Boris w/ Merzbow collaboration particularly interesting is that both Boris and Merzbow seem to leave behind the expected to fully embrace the unknown. The usually harsh, corrosive grate of Merzbow is not as apparent with Boris involved. Also the inspired charge of the Boris rock machine seems to reach new heights with Merzbows' intuitive textures added. This is however not entirely free-form. In fact the structure of this is what sets it apart from the majority of Merzbow related releases and collaborations. Boris assionately play their songs as they appear on the albums, but with Merzbow sharing the stage the result transcends the usual conventions of "rock-song" structure. In the end all musicians have created sounds and atmosphere that retains qualities of each group yet takes the listener to a new plateau.

Vinyl version contains the bonus track: "Dyno-Saur" not available on the cd version! Elaborate and beautiful packaging designed by Stephen O'Malley. This is as elaborate and visually stunning (if not more!) as our last Boris release: "Altar" (w/ sunn 0)))). It truly needs to be seen to be believed! Our printer vows to never ever make anything like this again as it was painfully time-consuming and took forever to get just right!
